Makati Shangri-La, Holy Trinity Wedding | Wilbur and Gelaine

Most Chinese weddings would have fascinating traditions that make it more colorful. Before a wedding date is set, a Feng Shui expert is usually consulted for the auspicious dates. Then there’s the Ting Hun where interestingly, the bride enters the ceremonial room walking backwards. Along with a number of other rituals, it is said to ward off negative energy.

But of course, over all these traditions, it’s the couple that matters the most. The two met a few years back and they’ve always been comfortable with each other. I guess that’s the most important fact to consider, don’t you think? Let me share some words from Gelaine when they were preparing for the wedding. It’s a testament as to how they’ve grown together as a couple..

“it was a blur of preparations—tears were shed, laughter was heard, and the next thing I knew, I was married to that guy I met 5 years ago: the one who witnessed my stupid dance moves, the one who shot a music video wearing cycling shorts, the one I caught dancing with me..and I can’t imagine marrying anyone else..”
