For Royce and Shannen’s pre wedding session in Japan, we wanted the photographs to feel like a journey through different sides of the country. We began with a quiet view of Mt. Fuji, surrounded by spring blossoms and the soft morning light. It was one of those rare moments when everything seemed to come together perfectly.
From there, we wandered through a traditional Japanese village, surrounded by old houses, wooden architecture, and the feeling of stepping into another time. The slower pace gave us room to capture the quieter moments between them.
We eventually made our way to Kawagoe, where the mood changed completely. As blue hour arrived, the old streets began to glow with warm shop lights and street lamps against the deep blue sky. For the final photographs, we pulled back and let the city become part of the story, with Royce and Shannen almost becoming another detail within the landscape.
As the light changed and each setting gave us something different, the day unfolded naturally. What stayed constant was Royce and Shannen, completely at ease with each other and with everything happening around them.
